On the afternoon of December 14, 2024, Shenzhen University successfully hosted a symposium on intelligent disciplines at the Alumni Plaza venue. Academicians Chai Tianyou and Luo Yi of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Academician Chen Guoliang of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Zhang Zhaotian, former Executive Deputy Director of the Information Science Department of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, Huang Haiyun, Vice Dean of the Graduate School, Professor Li Jianqiang, Executive Director of the National Engineering Laboratory for Big Data System Computing Technology, and many other renowned experts and scholars from top universities were invited to attend. The symposium focused on the theme of "The Development and Construction of Intelligent Disciplines at Shenzhen University," and included in-depth exchanges and discussions. Experts spoke freely, exploring the development direction of intelligent disciplines and jointly planning strategies to promote the innovative development of intelligent disciplines at Shenzhen University.

Following this, the experts offered constructive opinions and suggestions for the development of Shenzhen University's artificial intelligence discipline. These included strengthening interdisciplinary collaboration, clarifying research directions, and emphasizing the close integration of education and application. They specifically mentioned that the discipline's development should focus on distinctive research directions and optimize talent cultivation strategies to meet the needs of social and industrial development.
