On May 12, 2023, Miao Wei, member of the Standing Committee of the 14th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), vice chairman of the Economic Committee, and former Minister of Industry and Information Technology, visited Shenzhen University and toured the National Engineering Laboratory for Big Data, accompanied by Li Qingquan, secretary of the Party Committee of Shenzhen University, Zhang Xueji, vice president of Shenzhen University, and others.
In the exhibition hall on the first floor, Li Jianqiang, Executive Director of the National Engineering Laboratory, reported on the overall situation of the National Engineering Laboratory in terms of organizational structure, discipline evaluation, and research directions. He also gave a detailed introduction to representative scientific research achievements such as the RSP Big Data Analysis Platform and the domestically produced big data integrated machine. Standing Committee Member Miao Wei affirmed the work of the National Engineering Laboratory for Big Data System Computing.
Miao Wei is currently a member of the Standing Committee of the 14th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) and Vice Chairman of its Economic Committee. His previous positions include Deputy General Manager of China Automobile Sales and Service Corporation; Deputy General Manager and Deputy Director-General of the Production Department of China National Automotive Industry Corporation; Deputy Director-General and Deputy Chief Engineer of the Automotive Department of the Ministry of Machinery Industry; General Manager and Party Secretary of Dongfeng Motor Corporation; Member of the Standing Committee of the Hubei Provincial Party Committee and Secretary of the Wuhan Municipal Party Committee; and Secretary of the Party Group and Minister of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.
He was an alternate member of the 17th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC), a member of the 18th and 19th CPC Central Committees, a member of the 13th and 14th CPPCC National Committees, a member of the Standing Committee of the 14th CPPCC National Committee and Vice Chairman of its Economic Committee, and a deputy to the 10th and 11th National People's Congresses.
His major works include *Emission Policy and Control Technology for Automotive Diesel Engines* and *Internal Combustion Engine Theory and Design*; he has also organized the compilation of several publications, including *China Automobile* and *Research on Countermeasures for the Automobile Industry's 'Re-entry into GATT'*.
