Dr. Shang Wanfeng is currently a professor at the National Engineering Laboratory for Big Data System Computing Technology, Shenzhen University. His research focuses on artificial intelligence, robotics, and large-scale models. He also serves as a council member of the Chinese Society for Automatic Testing Technology, a standing council member of the Micro-Nano Robotics Branch of the Chinese Society for Micro-Nano Technology, and served as co-program chair for the 2018 IEEE RCAR conference, general co-chair for the 2019 IEEE ISR conference, and regional program chair for the 2021 IEEE RCAR conference. He has published over 60 SCI/EI indexed papers (1095 citations according to Google Scholar), including 3 ESI highly cited papers and 19 IEEE conference papers, in top journals in robotics and image processing such as Science Robotics and IEEE Transactions on Robotics and the International Journal of Computer Vision. He has applied for over 30 patents.

He has led several national and provincial-level projects, including the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) Mainland-Hong Kong Joint Project and General Project. He has established in-depth collaborations with the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, Huawei's Machine Vision Business Unit, and Eagle Precision. He guided students to win the first prize in the national selection competition for the "China Robot Competition and RoboCup Open Coal Mine Handling Robot"; won the first prize in the first "National Robot Creative Design Competition"; won the first prize of the Provincial Higher Education Science and Technology Award; and was named a Shenzhen Overseas High-level Peacock Talent. His major achievements have been recognized and highly praised by international peers, and the technology transfer has been applied in multiple companies, generating good economic benefits. His team's achievements were featured on CCTV-10's "Fashion Technology Show" in 2022.
