In order to objectively and scientifically evaluate the quality of the results and promote the transformation and application of scientific and technological achievements of Shenzhen University, the National Engineering Laboratory for Big Data System Computing Technology of Shenzhen University held a scientific and technological achievement appraisal meeting for the "Intelligent Robot System for Detecting Surface Defects in Nuclear Power Plant Containment" on the morning of September 3, 2023, in the Turing Conference Room of Zhizhen Building.

This conference was hosted by the Chinese Association for Artificial Intelligence (CAAI), organized by Shenzhen University, and co-organized by CGN Nuclear Power Operation Co., Ltd. The evaluation committee was chaired by Academician Chai Tianyou of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, and comprised experts including Professor Liu Hong of Peking University, Professor Li Zhijun of the University of Science and Technology of China, Researcher Wu Xinyu of the Shenzhen Institutes of Advanced Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Researcher Liu Yu of South China University of Technology, Professor You Zhuohong of Northwestern Polytechnical University, and Professor Yang Tao of Northeastern University.
Zhou Hui, Vice President of Shenzhen University, and Chen Junqi, Deputy General Manager of CGN Nuclear Power Operation Co., Ltd., attended the meeting as representatives of the research and development units and delivered speeches. The meeting was chaired by Chen Wenbo, representative of the CAAI.

At the meeting, Li Jianqiang, Executive Director and Project Leader of the National Engineering Laboratory for Big Data System Computing Technology at Shenzhen University, reported on the development report. Liu Zun, Assistant Professor at Shenzhen University, presented the technical summary report, novelty search report, and application report, and showcased the scientific and technological achievements.
You Zhuohong, an expert from the review panel's testing group, presented the test report and read out the test opinions. Yang Tao, an expert from the document review group, read out the document review report. Following this, the expert panel held a question-and-answer session, engaging in in-depth discussions on the technical level, innovativeness, and practicality of the results.

Following expert review, the review panel unanimously approved the achievement. The panel concluded that the achievement as a whole has reached an internationally advanced level, with some technologies reaching an internationally leading level. Project leader Li Jianqiang stated that the project will be further improved and optimized based on the experts' opinions and suggestions, providing strong support for the application of artificial intelligence in nuclear safety technology in my country.
