Recently, Professor Li Jianqiang, Executive Director of the National Engineering Laboratory for Big Data System Computing Technology at Shenzhen University, was elected an IET Fellow by the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET). This marks a significant breakthrough for the laboratory in building a high-level and leading talent pool.

The IET is a leading global professional academic society in the fields of science and engineering technology, currently boasting 170,000 members in 150 countries worldwide. It is the largest international professional society in Europe and the second largest globally. The IET was formerly known as the Institution of Electrical Engineers (IEE), founded in 1871. In 2006, the IEE and the Institution of Industrial Engineers (IIE) merged to form the IET. The IET's professional classifications cover more than 40 professional fields across five major industries: energy and power, transportation, information and communication, design and manufacturing, and the built environment. The IET Fellowship is the highest academic honor awarded by the IET to outstanding senior professionals who have made significant achievements in the fields of science and engineering. The IET selects approximately 200-300 IET Fellows annually, with about 10% from mainland China.
