May 15, 2025

On May 15th, the School of Artificial Intelligence at Shenzhen University held its 2025 Student Affairs Conference, comprehensively implementing the fundamental task of cultivating virtue and talent, and deploying key student affairs work based on the needs of students' growth and development. School leaders, all class advisors, and relevant student affairs personnel attended the meeting.

Adhering to a Student-Centered Approach and Strengthening Responsibility

Professor Li Jianqiang, the school's head, emphasized in his speech that student affairs work is a crucial aspect of the school's talent cultivation. He stressed the need to adhere to a "student-centered" work philosophy to ensure the safe, orderly, and efficient operation of undergraduate and graduate education management. He required all advisors to enhance their sense of responsibility, closely monitor students' thoughts and actual needs, and integrate humanistic care throughout the entire educational process to safeguard students' healthy growth.

Refining Work Deployment and Promoting Precise Implementation

Professor Luo Chengwen, based on the school's actual situation, made specific arrangements for student affairs work:

1. Deepening the Frontline Contact Mechanism: Class advisors should proactively engage with students, using methods such as heart-to-heart talks and dormitory visits to promptly understand students' thoughts, academic progress, and living conditions, paying particular attention to students experiencing significant psychological stress, and providing early care and support.

2. Strengthen Joint Training Management: Class advisors are required to communicate regularly and collaborate with on-campus and off-campus mentors to solve students' difficulties in research and daily life, ensuring the quality of student training.

3. Collaborative Efforts in Holistic Education: Emphasizing that "every student deserves our care," mentors must take initiative to help students cultivate a positive mindset and build a collaborative support system involving the college, family, and society, providing a solid guarantee for students' all-round development.

Building Consensus and Seeking Common Development

At the meeting, class advisors exchanged views on topics such as academic atmosphere building, mental health education, and employment guidance, sharing experiences and discussing solutions to common challenges. College leaders fully affirmed the hard work of the class advisors and required further strengthening of problem-oriented approaches, innovative working methods, and improved educational effectiveness.

This meeting clarified the goals and paths of student work. The School of Artificial Intelligence will promote the improvement of ideological and political work with higher standards and more practical measures, contributing to the cultivation of socialist builders and successors with both moral integrity and professional competence.
