Good News | Professor Li Jianqiang from the School of Artificial Intelligence Elected as IEEE Fellow

November 27, 2025 – The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) has announced the list of members elevated to IEEE Fellow for the year 2026. Professor Li Jianqiang from the School of Artificial Intelligence has been elected as an IEEE Fellow in recognition of his contributions to the computational theory and applications of perception and decision-making in intelligent systems. This achievement marks a new breakthrough for the School in cultivating high-level and leading talents.

IEEE was formally established in 1963, evolving from the American Institute of Electrical Engineers (AIEE, founded in 1884) and the Institute of Radio Engineers (IRE, founded in 1912). Headquartered in New York, USA, IEEE is an international association of electronics and information science engineers and the world's largest non-profit professional technical society. With over 400,000 members across more than 160 countries, IEEE comprises 39 technical societies and seven technical councils, leading the development of numerous industrial standards. The IEEE Fellow grade is the highest honor conferred by IEEE upon its members, awarded for significant contributions to engineering, science, and technology. The number of IEEE Fellows selected each year does not exceed 0.1% of the total IEEE membership.

Profile:

Professor Li Jianqiang is a Distinguished Professor and Doctoral Supervisor at Shenzhen University. He is an IEEE Fellow, IET Fellow, recipient of the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, Chief Scientist of National Key R&D Program of China, and has been selected for the National Young Talents Program. He is also a recipient of the Guangdong Natural Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars. His research focuses on the theory and application of robotics and artificial intelligence, with related achievements being applied in companies such as Huawei, ZTE, and China General Nuclear Power Group (CGN).
