The National Engineering Laboratory for Big Data System Computing Technology is a national-level science and technology innovation platform in my country's big data field, officially approved by the National Development and Reform Commission in December 2016. It is led by Shenzhen University and jointly established with the State Information Center, ZTE Corporation, Tsinghua University, and Tencent Technology. After five years of development, the National Engineering Laboratory has built a leading domestic and world-class big data technology innovation platform and an outstanding talent team led by five academicians. The National Engineering Laboratory has always prioritized the transformation of scientific research results into practical productivity, maintaining close cooperation with companies such as Tencent, Huawei, ZTE, CGN, China Gas Holdings, China Nanshan Group, and BGI Genomics. Project Introduction
To further improve the talent support system of the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), fully leverage the NSFC's function in attracting and cultivating talent, and attract outstanding young overseas talents to return to China, the NSFC Excellent Young Scientists Fund Project (Overseas) was established in 2021.
The Excellent Young Scientists Fund Project (Overseas) aims to attract and encourage outstanding young overseas scholars (including non-Chinese foreign talents) who have achieved good results in natural sciences and engineering technology to return to China, independently choose research directions to conduct innovative research, promote the rapid growth of young scientific and technological talents, cultivate a group of outstanding academic backbones who are expected to reach the forefront of world science and technology, and contribute to the construction of a science and technology powerhouse.

Application Requirements
Applicants for the Excellent Young Scientists Fund Project (Overseas) should meet the following requirements:
1. Compliance with the laws and regulations of the People's Republic of China, possessing sound scientific ethics, and consciously practicing the spirit of scientists in the new era;
2. Born on or after January 1, 1983;
3. Holding a doctoral degree;
4. Research interests primarily in natural sciences, engineering technology, etc.;
5. Generally, applicants should have obtained a formal teaching or research position in an overseas university, research institution, or corporate R&D institution before March 15, 2023, and have at least 36 consecutive months of work experience; the work experience requirement may be appropriately relaxed for those who obtained their doctoral degree overseas and have outstanding achievements;
6. Achievements in scientific research or technology recognized by peer experts, and possessing the potential to become an academic leader or outstanding talent in the field;
7. Applicants should not have returned to China (or come to China) for full-time work, or should return to China (or come to China) for work after January 1, 2022. After receiving the funding notification, applicants must resign from their overseas work or be unemployed overseas and return to China (or come to China) for full-time work for no less than 3 years.
Application Restrictions:
In accordance with the requirements of relevant central government departments regarding the coordination and connection of national science and technology talent programs, applicants can only undertake one national science and technology talent program at the same level during the support period and cannot apply for programs at a lower level.

Salary and Benefits
1. Selected candidates will be appointed as specially appointed professors at Shenzhen University, with confirmed doctoral supervisor qualifications. Priority will be given to graduate student quotas. The annual salary is 750,000-800,000 RMB (excluding various research awards). Excellent candidates will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
2. Candidates can apply for the Shenzhen University "Pengcheng Peacock Plan" specially appointed position (Level B), with an additional bonus of 360,000 RMB per year during the appointment period (three-year term, maximum three terms, tax-free).
3. High-level research achievements will be eligible for research awards, and candidates will also enjoy substantial research performance-based income.

Application Method
The combined research funding from the national, provincial, municipal, and university levels is 5-10 million RMB. Full support is provided for team building; the university must assign at least two team members, and there is no limit to the number of postdoctoral researchers that can be recruited.

1. Housing Policy: Students can apply for on-campus temporary housing at discounted rent. Eligible applicants can also benefit from Shenzhen's talent housing policy; specific details are subject to final government announcement.
2. Educational Facilities: Shenzhen University Affiliated Education Group comprises 4 middle schools, 4 primary schools, and 3 kindergartens, effectively guaranteeing the schooling of faculty and staff children.
3. Healthcare: The group operates two top-tier general hospitals: Shenzhen University General Hospital and the Affiliated South China Hospital, providing high-quality medical services to faculty and staff.
4. Staff Care: The school provides special funding for sports, free use of on-campus sports facilities, annual health checkups, and meal subsidies.
5. Tax Incentives: Eligible applicants can enjoy the preferential personal income tax policy of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. For qualified talents, the government will provide financial subsidies. Within a tax year, the applicant's tax paid minus the calculated tax amount (calculated tax amount = applicant's taxable income x 15%) is the amount of personal income tax subsidy the applicant can apply for that year.
