To effectively enhance the enthusiasm and improve the quality of applications from laboratory researchers for the 2025 National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) grants, the National Engineering Laboratory for Big Data held a mobilization meeting for NSFC applications on December 31, 2024. Approximately thirty laboratory researchers participated in the meeting, either in person or online. The meeting was chaired by Zhu Zexuan, the laboratory's deputy director in charge of research.

Deputy Director Zhu Zexuan first briefly introduced the laboratory's application status for 2024 and the preliminary application status for 2025, and analyzed relevant review comments, affirming the achievements while summarizing shortcomings. Following this, Professor Li Jianqiang, Executive Director of the laboratory, delivered a mobilization speech, emphasizing the importance of the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) application process and urging applicants to complete their initial drafts as soon as possible, refining them repeatedly to significantly improve application quality.

In the subsequent sharing and exchange session, Associate Professor Zhou Jie and Assistant Professor Huang Changxin shared their successful experiences with NSFC general and youth projects, respectively. They advised applicants to focus on national development and people's livelihood, build upon their own research foundation, carefully refine scientific questions, clarify technical routes, and improve applications through multiple iterations, pointing out many details requiring attention.

This application mobilization meeting further solidified the consensus among all researchers in the laboratory to take the 2025 NSFC application process seriously. The laboratory will further conduct application guidance and quality control to ensure the solid progress of the 2025 NSFC application work. We wish the laboratory continued success in the 2025 NSFC application process!
