
The Greater Bay Area Big Data and Artificial Intelligence Conference and the celebration of the 40th anniversary of the Shenzhen Computer Society were successfully held at Shenzhen University on December 14-15, 2024. The conference was hosted by Shenzhen University, the Robotics and Intelligence Committee of the Chinese Association of Automation, and the Shenzhen Computer Society, and organized by the National Engineering Laboratory for Big Data System Computing Technology of Shenzhen University. Its aim was to build a high-level exchange platform, fully leverage the advantages of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, and promote high-quality industrial development.
Academicians Chai Tianyou and Luo Yi of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Academicians Chen Guoliang and Qiao Hong of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Zhang Zhaotian, former Executive Deputy Director of the Information Science Department of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, Li Yonghua, Vice President of Shenzhen University, Professor Li Jianqiang, Executive Director of the National Engineering Laboratory for Big Data System Computing Technology, and renowned experts and scholars from top universities and senior executives from enterprises attended the conference.

During the conference, Academician Mao Junfa, President of Shenzhen University, held talks with experts and scholars, reaching many consensuses on how to further strengthen cooperation among universities and between universities and research institutions, providing a new impetus for the innovative development of the big data and artificial intelligence industries.

At 8:30 AM on the 14th, Vice President Li Yonghua of Shenzhen University, Conference Chair Academician Chen Guoliang, and Academician Qiao Hong delivered opening remarks. Following this, the conference proceeded to the academic report session. Academicians Chai Tianyou, Luo Yi, and other distinguished guests, along with leading figures from academia and industry, gathered to discuss the future development trends of big data and artificial intelligence industries and share and exchange the latest research findings in this field. The reports were rich in content and diverse in format, exploring cutting-edge topics such as self-learning and self-optimizing intelligent systems for complex industrial process operation decision-making, interdisciplinary collaboration as the foundation of artificial intelligence, the development direction of evolutionary multi-objective optimization research, moving towards autonomous intelligence through rolling optimization, cell communication networks and tumor immunology, world model construction and causal reasoning, digital empowerment of kidney disease management, intelligent drug development, aerial platform collaboration and human-machine permission allocation, preliminary exploration of brain-like motion planning, and research progress in key technologies for intelligent medical image diagnosis.

On the afternoon of the 15th, the main venue hosted the Shenzhen University-University of Nottingham Doctoral Forum, bringing together experts, scholars, and doctoral students from various fields at both universities to discuss cutting-edge academic issues and industry development trends.

On the afternoon of December 14th and the morning of December 15th, the Intelligent Science and Technology Seminar and the Shenzhen Computer Society Council and Development Seminar were held at the Alumni Plaza sub-venue, respectively. The appointment ceremonies for the "Intelligent Science and Technology" discipline development consulting experts and the appointment ceremonies for the council members of the Computer Society were also held.

The Shenzhen Computer Society, established on January 5, 1984, is one of the earliest computer societies in Shenzhen. Its main activities include university-enterprise cooperation, academic exchange, enterprise interaction, industry-academia-research collaboration, and technology popularization. The Society has held academic conferences, industry and technology forums, and training sessions of various scales and levels, and conducted activities such as awards, competitions, and science popularization, including computer technology forums and lectures on cutting-edge computer science. It has also organized numerous public science popularization activities for citizens, such as cybersecurity.
The Greater Bay Area Big Data and Artificial Intelligence Conference and the celebration of the 40th anniversary of the Shenzhen Computer Society served as a platform to showcase the latest achievements of the Greater Bay Area in the field of artificial intelligence, and a springboard to propel the industry to a higher level. The conference concluded successfully on the afternoon of the 15th. Through this series of high-level exchange activities, the big data and artificial intelligence industry in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area will flourish even more, contributing Chinese wisdom and strength to the development of related industries globally.
