On the evening of October 28th, a tea party for the 2024 freshmen from Zhejiang and Guangzhou/Shenzhen, along with a mobilization meeting for the 2025 winter recruitment season, was successfully held in Room 1007 of Zhizhen Building. The meeting was hosted by the National Engineering Laboratory for Big Data System Computing Technology. Executive Director Li Jianqiang, Deputy Director Shen Linlin, Associate Professor Peng Xiaogang, Specially Appointed Researcher Chen Jie, and other faculty and staff members, as well as representatives of the 2024 freshmen from Zhejiang and Guangzhou/Shenzhen, attended the meeting.
Director Li Jianqiang first welcomed the freshmen and encouraged them to speak freely. He stated that the winter recruitment season is not only a crucial part of the admissions process but also an opportunity for freshmen to showcase their abilities and develop their communication and organizational skills. He encouraged the freshmen to actively participate, bringing the excellent traditions and academic atmosphere of Shenzhen University back to their alma mater, attracting more outstanding students to join the university family. The laboratory and all faculty and staff will fully support the effort to ensure the successful completion of the winter recruitment season.
Xu Han, the 2022 winter recruitment team leader, also provided a detailed introduction to the procedures and precautions for winter recruitment promotion, sharing her experiences and gains through a combination of text and images, demonstrating the importance and influence of the winter recruitment season. These experiences not only provided practical guidance for students about to participate in the winter recruitment season but also inspired their enthusiasm and confidence.
Teachers Shen Linlin, Peng Xiaogang, and Chen Jie actively interacted with the new students, sharing their teaching and research experiences and engaging in in-depth discussions on issues of concern to the students. These three teachers all have deep ties to Zhejiang Province, and their experience and insights are undoubtedly invaluable to the new students. The atmosphere was lively, filled with laughter and joy.
This mobilization meeting enhanced the bond between teachers and students, further understood the current adaptation of the new students, and helped them clarify their academic goals and develop academic plans. The successful holding of this meeting marks the official integration of the 2024 freshmen into our Shenzhen University family and also kicks off the 2025 winter recruitment process.
