On the afternoon of January 12, 2023, the National Engineering Laboratory for Big Data held its 2022 Annual Summary Conference and a Mobilization Meeting for Outstanding Overseas Researchers and National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) Projects. All faculty and staff members of the laboratory attended the meeting.
At the meeting, Executive Director Li Jianqiang comprehensively summarized the laboratory's current development and the evaluation situation it faces. He also outlined the laboratory's work plan for the new year, focusing on structural construction, evaluation systems, assessment, and development. He stated that a journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step, and he hoped that the laboratory's faculty members would unite, actively prepare for the evaluation work, combine their personal development with the laboratory's development, be grounded in reality, have lofty ideals, cultivate a sense of ownership, and proactively take initiative and achieve results.
Deputy Director Zhu Zexuan gave a comprehensive report on the laboratory's research progress, covering research projects, research awards, academic exchanges, and government-enterprise cooperation. He also outlined a detailed plan for the laboratory's research development in 2023, mobilizing faculty and full-time researchers to actively apply for NSFC projects. He emphasized that all eligible research projects should be submitted in 2023, with project mobilization reaching every individual.
Deputy Director Shen Linlin fully mobilized the application process for the Overseas Outstanding Young Scientists Fund, proposing the establishment of an incentive mechanism to encourage all faculty and staff to actively recruit overseas young talents.
Team member Peng Xiaogang and Assistant Director Luo Chengwen summarized the laboratory's publicity and recruitment efforts, and outlined plans for the new academic year. Future initiatives will include conducting lectures for young faculty members and designing research competitions to further promote publicity and recruitment.
Finally, Director Li Jianqiang extended New Year's greetings to everyone, and the meeting concluded in a harmonious and friendly atmosphere.
