Academicians Provide Guidance | National Engineering Laboratory Holds Interdisciplinary Symposium on Medicine and Engineering

On May 16, the National Engineering Laboratory for Big Data System Computing Technology held an interdisciplinary academic seminar on medicine and engineering in the Turing Conference Room. Academician Chai Tianyou of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Professor Pei Hailong of South China University of Technology, Professor Su Chunyi of Guangdong University of Technology, Xu Chang, Director of the Office of Smart Hospital Research Institute of Peking University Shenzhen Hospital, Li Siying, Supercomputing Engineering Technician, Li Jianqiang, Executive Director of the National Engineering Laboratory for Big Data, Zhu Zexuan, Deputy Director, Luo Chengwen, Assistant Director, Wang Li from the Technology Transfer Office, and others attended the meeting.

Wang Li led a delegation from Peking University Shenzhen Hospital on a tour of the National Engineering Laboratory, introducing the laboratory's basic situation in terms of organizational structure, discipline development, research directions, and scientific research achievements. Subsequently, Xu Chang gave a detailed introduction to the work of the Smart Hospital Research Institute of Peking University Shenzhen Hospital.

The discussion session was a key focus of the meeting, where participants engaged in in-depth discussions and consultations on research directions. Academician Chai offered constructive suggestions regarding the collaboration between the National Engineering Laboratory for Big Data and Peking University Hospital, emphasizing the significant importance of the interdisciplinary integration of medicine and modern engineering technology. Xu Chang stated that Peking University Shenzhen Hospital is committed to providing high-quality medical services, medical research, and medical education. He expressed hope that this exchange would foster in-depth cooperation with the National Engineering Laboratory, jointly promoting the development of medical research and the health industry.
