Ni Dong, Professor, Doctoral Supervisor. Former board member of MICCAI, a top international conference on artificial intelligence in medical imaging, and associate editor of IEEE TMI, a top journal in the field. He has led one National Key Research and Development Program project (Chief Scientist), one National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) key project (Tianyuan Interdisciplinary Key Project), and three other NSFC projects. His publications in top medical imaging AI journals rank among the top 10 in my country ("A Review and Outlook of 20 Years of Artificial Intelligence in Medical Imaging in China"), and he has been selected as one of the top 2% of scientists globally for four consecutive years.
His research focuses on intelligent ultrasound research and translation. This research pioneered a novel approach to intelligent ultrasound quality control, achieving the highest citation count among similar publications. The researcher has published 262 articles in journals such as MedIA (18 articles), TMI (11 articles), and Nature Communications (1 article), including 51 SCI-indexed papers in the past five years (20 with an impact factor > 8), over 11,000 Google Scholar citations, an H-index of 50, a single-paper citation count of 1076, and 5 ESI highly cited papers. The researcher received the First Prize of Shenzhen Science and Technology Progress Award (I), the Third Prize of China Maternal and Child Health Science and Technology Award (IV), and the Third Prize of Wu Wenjun Artificial Intelligence Award (I). The researcher participated in the formulation of one national pharmaceutical industry standard. The research and commercialization results have been granted 5 NMPA registration certificates, authorized over 30,000 software sets by multiple ultrasound manufacturers worldwide, and are used in thousands of hospitals. The researcher received a donation of tens of millions of yuan from the Gates Foundation to develop an intelligent handheld ultrasound system, aiming to significantly reduce maternal mortality rates in remote areas worldwide.
